Bernadette Dora Gombossy de Melo Franco is Full Professor at University of São Paulo, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Department of Food Science and Nutrition, Laboratory of Food Microbiology, São Paulo, Brazil. She is Director of the Food Research Center (FoRC) of University of São Paulo. She holds a Ph.D. in Food Science and her research and teaching topics are Food Microbiology, Safety and Quality. She was member of the International Commission on Microbiological Specifications for Foods (ICMSF) from 2000 to 2015 and is member of the board of the International Commission on Food Microbiology and Hygiene Microbiological Specifications for Foods (ICFMH) since 2010.
